Information on Impersonation Scams

Hello Resident,

We are aware of several reports from surrounding police forces of criminals pretending to be bank staff or police officers on telephone calls, attempting to steal money or personal information.

These scams can be very convincing, but you can protect yourself by following the advice below:

🚫 If someone claims your bank account is at risk

Criminals may tell you your account has been compromised or that your money needs to be moved for “safety”. Banks will never ask you to transfer money or reveal your PIN.

If you receive a call, text, or email like this:

👮 If someone claims to be a police officer

Criminals sometimes pretend to be officers investigating “fraud” involving your account or bank card.
